I recently found out live houses originated in Japan. I’ve seen them all over Asia but I could never appreciate the concept. A lot were just rebranded restaurants that advertise ’live music'.

That is until I happened to find a small venue in Amerikamura Osaka. I can’t remember the name but it had a small staircase leading to a red door, and the inside looked similar to the one in the video. The place was packed and we all stood right in front of the stage holding beers getting our ears blown off by how fucking loud it was. The band members were probably in their thirties and the music wasn’t that good. But I guess at least we were all there for the music.
